I’m a Horse.
Not literally, but I was born in the Year of the Horse. Like many people, I resonate with the shift from the Year of the Snake into a Horse year, especially as we navigate big changes in the world and in our own lives.
As you’ve likely read, the Snake year was about shedding. Noticing patterns. Letting go of what no longer fits.
In communication, that can include shedding tendencies to:
fixate on saying the “right” thing
hold back your ideas
over-manage how you’ll be perceived
stay smaller than you actually are
If you’ve been slowly releasing some of that but haven’t quite taken the leap yet, this may be your year.
The Horse year is about movement. It’s about courage and instinct. Trusting yourself and what you already know enough to take bigger steps. Letting your voice be clearer, bolder, and more aligned with who you are now.
Not a constant gallop. (Even horses return to the stable.)
But forward movement, sometimes bold and sometimes subtle, toward fuller self-expression.
Because when your voice is clearer, your presence, ideas, and contributions expand more naturally and with greater meaning.
If you want to practice this in a gentle yet transformative way, I’d love to invite you into two spaces:
🗣️ Connected Speaking Hour — Feb 12, 12–1pm PT
A drop-in space to tune into what’s true for you and practice saying it out loud, working with any discomfort to stay connected with yourself and others.
🌱 5-week Connected Speaking Cohort for Women — begins April 30
A small, supportive group for women ready to take meaningful steps toward greater presence, contribution, and fulfillment.
If you’re curious or want to learn more, you can reach me at liz@connectedspeaking.com.
Wishing you a year of shedding what’s done and moving toward what’s next.
Warmly,
Liz
