This morning in meditation, these words popped into my head:
There is nothing wrong with you.
I’ve dabbled in “You are good enough” affirmations in the past; a lovely sentiment but hard to fully take in.
Maybe because so many of us have grown up with messages (spoken or unspoken) that we’re not enough... and of course we live in a culture that needs us to feel decidedly 𝘯𝘰𝘵 good enough so we’ll keep buying things to “fix” ourselves.
There is nothing wrong with you. Today, as I repeated it like a mantra, tears streaming down my face, it actually felt true.
Even though we will keep making “mistakes” as we learn and grow… there is nothing wrong with us. As the actress Sophia Bush puts it: you can be a masterpiece and a work in progress at the same time. (Sometimes wisdom shows up in surprising places.)
That message is at the heart of our work at Connected Speaking.
When you share yourself and are met with receptive listening and appreciation of your unique qualities, you gain a felt sense that there is nothing wrong with you.
As your mind slowly rewires to feel safer, you naturally show up with more ease — able to express your ideas clearly, and connect in ways that feel more meaningful for you and others.
A short reflection for you:
Set a timer for one minute.
Take at least one full breath to ground. Gently repeat the phrase There is nothing wrong with you — either silently in your mind or out loud. Notice what happens in your body, your breath, or your mood. You don’t need to force anything; let the words land and see what they stir.
If you’d like to explore more practices like this in a supportive small-group setting, my next 5-week Connected Speaking cohort starts October 2. More info here. Please reach out with any questions!

Thank you for your beautiful insight!
